I think birthdays are important. Mine is really close to Christmas and is often overlooked. So, in celebration of my birthday, I aim to celebrate my half birthday which is July 4th. What could be better than fireworks and parades on one's birthday!
I love birthday cakes and balloons, and sharing the day with someone special.
I do feel for anyone that is born near xmas. my daughter was born the day before xmas, and she gets overlooked alot of her special day, and i agree its very special day that should be enjoyed. I tried to encourage her to pick an un-birthday in the middle of the year but she never did it.

My birthday is in July and I always hated it because I couldn't celebrate it in grade school like the other kids because it was during summer break and when I got older I hated it because it was always hot and humid in July and my hair would frizz up. So maybe MY half-birthday could me in February.
