Mail Me Art
I finished my submission for "Mail Me Art" project. I decided to paint on a bubble wrap envelope, I like the texture. The idea is to let the receivers know if there is anything in the envelope, thus, the words "empty". I actually like the back better than the front of the envelope. Oh well, sometimes that just happens and you have to go with the flow.

From my archives
I created this illustration early in the year for Illustration Friday, it's one of my favorites. I have been busy getting projects done for the final stages of completion. Sketchbook project almost finished, Matchbox works getting ready to be mailed out, and Mail Me Art project almost complete. I hope to finish them all up over this long weekend.
How are you staying creative? Stay tuned...

Matchbox show
I finished my pieces this weekend for the matchbox show coming up in Dec. I posted them in an early stage of completion a few posts ago. Now I just need to get them packaged up and sent on their way to the gallery.

Artist you should know about
Ana Ventura is a fabulous illustrator, I so admire her work. Now she has this fabulous packaging tape!
I just couldn't resist. Please make sure to visit her site and see what other goodies she has.

What i'm working on...
I'm working on a project for a Matchbox group show in December in West Seattle. Organized by the fabulous Jenna Colby. I've had several ideas, and chucked them all and have had to start over. I'm liking the way my work is progressing so far. I'll show more later when I'm near completion.
Happy Saturday!

Escaping artist block part 2

Escaping artist block
I am escaping many days of artist block. I can't seem to focus on what I want to create. When that happens I turn to my journals. My journals are filled with paint, acrylic, collage, text, markers, and graphite. After I create the spread I often go back and fill in the rest with my journal thoughts. This process takes days or weeks but I am always happy when I feel it is "finished".
