Day two

Here is a peak at my first hooking project, day two. I am almost finished with her, but the face will be last. I think it will be hard to do. I thought it would be cute to give her a pumpkin face. I'm still working on that. I forgot to make an outline so I might go back and outline her. Can you see that I made her heart larger?

Happy Hands, part two

I went to my first rug hooking get-together. I don't have all my supplies yet but I will soon. Here are what some of the hookers are working on.

Moleskine

Entry 19 in my Moleskine. Yipee, I think I'm half way done! I used molding paste for texture, but I like the fiber paste best right now.

I used a lot of textures and tools for this page. Golden's glass beads, Pitt pens, Sakuro white pen, gel pens, Inktense, and acrylic wash.

I think it needs a border though.

Artist garage sale

I went to the artist garage sale yesterday. It was great to see art friends and spend time looking at all the great art and supplies. I forgot to bring my camera so I was disappointed that I didn't take photos of the outside booths. I loved it! I also bought a large painting about 5' x 5'. I will show photos of it later.
See that polka dot fabric,, maybe I can make some art dolls out of it.

Moleskine

I am trying to make a page a day in my Moleskine. With that said, I was not able to make one today, but this is yesterday's page.
This one is so much better in person, the colors, all the textures I did, this looks so shallow when in fact it is very rich and abundant with text, texture, old script, etc. Click to make it large, you can see the photo better.

I think I am half way through my Moleskine. I have a goal of actually finishing a journal. "Clothesline Lady" has glitter around her mouth that is a little hard to see. The next page will have some of Golden's new glass bead texture. I have been using fiber paste from Golden and I really like the texture. I think I will purchase a larger jar of it.

I was delighted a very talented rug hooker came to our art meeting yesterday. Sharon Baker makes beautiful primitive rugs.

Lisa JonesMoore is sharing her transferring techniques to our group. Her work is wonderful. You should check out her encaustic work sometime and her photographs are amazing.

Bastyr Herb and Food Fair

I went to Bastyr's Herb fair, it was wonderful. There were acupuncturists, Chinese massage therapy, herbs for sale, books, and lots of free information. I got a free soft touch Chinese massage and within mintues I felt great! As you can tell by the photos I got there just in time to dodge the rain clouds.
