New work this year
I have been busy developing a new technique I've learned from Katie Kendrick. I love using charcoal and smearing it around to create new images in faces. I'm working on creating my art to flow more, and not be so rigid. My color palette still remains colorful and bright.

My latest
Here is my latest in my Etsy shop. It's a painting and combined journaling...I'm really enjoying Instagram these days, where I can just quickly post photos. My sign in name is tararossstudios, in case you are interested. I'm also thinking of turning this into a fabric printing where I can make a fabric journal out of the print.

Some of my new work
I've been creating in an older style I did many years ago. I kind of like it and it is refreshing to me to do something different. I also like having a style all my own. I see so many people copy others work. In some way that is how we get better as artists. When I feel like it all looks the same, I change it up a bit.

Wall Hanging
I finished this great portrait wall hanging a couple of days ago. It was really fun to make each face. It measures 24 x 24 inches and is on heavy duc canvas. I'm hoping to make another one when this one sells and keep one for myself. Have a great week.

What I've been up to
I've been busy painting again. I love creating sweet girls with bunny slippers and pigtails. You can find most of my latest work in my etsy shop.
Now that I'm done traveling, well for the most part anyway, I hope to be creating a lot more. My next project is creating faces on muslin squares and sewing them together for a large wall hanging. Stay tuned. I look forward to your comments.
Cheers!

New work on ebay
I am so happy I had all afternoon to dedicate to creating art. I have been working in my new journal (see previous posts) today I created some small pieces on watercolor paper similar to the ones in my art journal. I have decided to offer them on ebay. They are 5 x 7 inches, and there are three of them. I am starting them at a reasonable starting bid. My id is trossco and here they are,,,,
Here is one of the links to my work So, today I am going to paint, and watch the Seahawks, it's going to be a great day!

I've been working on many projects
Here's a peek at some of the art I've created lately. Right now I am passionate about my art dolls. They are called Snippets of Soul Stories. Each one has a story. And the stories are snippets from my past. I'll be teaching a class on how I make them soon. To see more, see my facebook page at tarasartcamp. Hugs! xoxo

"Veronica"
Veronica is a sweet girl who likes chocolate chip cookies. She is made from vintage fabric from the thrift store, polyester fiberfill, and she has a hand painted original face, created by me. I use acrylic paints in all my work. She measures about 10 inches tall and she is looking for her forever home. To see more of my art dolls look for tarasartcamp over at Etsy.

"Molly" is now in my shop. I love creating faces, I never know how they are going to turn out. I like how my images come out and "speak to me". I love using lots of texture in the background. Gouache is my new favorite art supply. It spreads around easily with a bristle brush and I like the effect.
You can see her in my shop

A summer day for painting
I love painting outside on my deck in the summer. It's lovely outside today. I'm painting with mostly watercolor, it's easier to take outside with me.
Willow likes to join me outside on lovely days like this.
