Work from last year

I was looking at some of my work from last year. This one is called "Soulmates". I used watercolors instead of acrylics. I like the soft gentle feel of this piece and I think I will work on some more like this one.

I just got my sewing machine back from the sewing machine doctor and will hopefully start making some fabric collage art. It seems I am not motivated now to do that. My creativeness is at a low now and I'm not quite sure why.

Stitched finished doll

Here she is, her name is Rose. All stitched and stuffed and ready to be mailed to a friend that has a birthday the same month as me! You know who you are! (smiles) Check my previous entry to see my process of making her.
The other doll that I was making will have to wait, as my machine broke on the last stitch of "Rose".

I'm making a doll

I first cut out the canvas in a slight body shape. Then I start to paint it.

I add some more details and some arms.

I paint some detail on the arms. It's drying right now. After they dry, I will begin to stitch them.

More to come later. I hope I like the way they will turn out.

I'm full of ideas today

I made this design today. I will make her into a rubber stamp. Then get some red stamp ink and put the design on card stock. Then for Valentine's day I will take some thread and add a little dangly heart from her hand. I can't wait to get started!

Getting back in the swing of things

I'm getting back into the swing of things again. My cold/flu is gone and I'm much better. I am going to an art meet up tomorrow and I always look forward to that. I sold this painting today. I was thinking of keeping it for myself but it is going to a good home. Have a great weekend!
