"Molly"

"Molly, Stan, and Once the Day Begins"

Stan really likes Molly but Molly likes "Once the Day Begins". She feels they have a lot in common and she thinks Stan is too shy for her. She rides on the wild side so she is always trying to get his attention. Stan keeps trying to win her affection but nothing seems to work at this point.

Textile art mini quilt

This measures approx 8 x 10. I have been making a lot of fabric pieces lately but I need to get back to painting my "creatures". As an artist is it important to stay focused on a certain style or to make different types of art. I'm waiting for a certain gallery to notice my work, but I don't want my sites to look like all I make is textile pieces. So,,,,, back to painting,,,,which I love to do too!

Too many choices, so little time!

Textile art collage

This piece measures about 8 x 8 inches. It is created on heavy fabric canvas. The wording is fabric. One of the trees is made out of a vintage fabric yo yo. I painted the houses on muslin fabric, then machine stitched them onto heavy canvas. I gessoed the fabric before I painted it to give it a stiffness. After I finished sewing the pieces I painted the trees over the top with acrylic paint.

"Phobia"- Illustration Friday

Some of us have Phobias. They show up on some of us in peculiar ways.

Others of us have the capability of holding them inside. Hiding them from others.

"Under the Loli Trees"

To change pace I like to create a little bit of collage in my art. It's a little cliche, but fun! I love old photos, especially ones I can turn into a whimsical, magical, story.

Illustration

This illustration is from a book called "The Dead Bird" by Margaret Wise Brown. The illustrator is Remy Charlip. I just love the simpleness of it. Its very sweet, about some children who find a dead bird and bury it.

I found this sweet book at the Friends of the library book sale for .75. They have so many books, it is very overwhelming, but so much fun.

"The Trees In My Neighborhood"

A differnet medium for me, watercolor. It's been months since I've worked with watercolors. I like how this came out. I like the softness of the watercolors.
This piece measures 8"x10" and is on heavy archival watercolor paper.

This is for sale here

"Sleepwalker"

I just posted this piece and other art for sale in my etsy shop. I thought I'd give it a try. There are lots of cool artists selling their work there now. http//www.tarasartcamp@etsy.com

I think I'm going to like etsy better than ebay. It's so much faster to upload, post, and submit, than some of the auctions like Vendio.

Textile art

This piece measures 4" x 6". I am going to make it into a larger soft sculpture piece. I am getting sore fingers from all the hand sewing so I used my machine for most of this.

I stated by painting gesso on some muslin fabric. Then when it dried I drew my art design. I painted it with acrylics, then sewed on a fabric backing. It is stuffed to give it a nice feel. I hand stitched the edge and added fiber all around.

Thats it!

Fabric art project

Like in my previous post I have added the original piece of art for you to see. I created the fabric piece from an ink jet transfer to make the fabric art piece.
