Abandoned Art

Abandoned art Lake Washington, WA State

Here is my second piece of art abandoned for the Abandoned Art Project, hosted by Michael DeMeng. I left it on a fence on the famous Burke Gilman Trail on Lake Washington. I thought I might leave it on a fire hydrant along the trail, but I had second thoughts as the city might contact me and tell me to take it off since I left a note saying "If you find this and like my art contact me at...."

Art Abandonment

This is one of my entries for "Art Abandonment" hosted by the fabulous Michael DeMeng. This is a collaborative project between many artists. The idea is to make art, and then leave it for someone to discover. This is such an exciting project and so many cool ideas of where to abandon art. https://www.facebook.com/groups/ArtAbandonment/ I abandoned my art on Vashon Island, Washington

Illustration Friday "Space"

"Spacey"
I haven't participated in IF for a while now. I love this weeks theme, "Space". I couldn't relate to Space but I definitely relate to being "Spacey". Happy drawing! xo

Planting the Seeds

I created this little piece of art in a postcard book. You can tear out the pages and send your work as a postcard. I think that's a cute idea, but I will probably just save the book. The pages are thick enough to hold watercolor. Created with watercolor and graphite.

The line up

The weekend was so beautiful here, right next to Seattle. This is Juanita Park, a wonderful place not far from home. The skies opened up in between rain showers. The Tricolored blackbirds were out, and the turtles were basking in the sun. This is a beautiful scene among the banks of Lake Washington. The weather was perfect,  I feel so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place.

My journal

I am finding time to work in my small leather journal. I haven't been as productive lately, but working on my art, making art, and journaling are in my soul. I miss it. This week's theme for Illustration Friday is "Space". I'm thinking about that, and what to create. It's a rainy weekend here in Seattle, I am going to make the time to create. I hope you are having a lovely weekend. xo

New work

I have been working in my small leather journal again. This journal is great to work in, as I am re-doing every page I have done before. That is painting over the old stuff, and bringing in my recent style over the old. I purposely allow some of the old paint, words etc, to show through. It adds lots of interest. I love the size of this journal. It's 5 x 3 approx.... Small enough to carry around and work in when the inspiration hits me.
This page is done with acrylic and graphite. xoxo

What I've been doing

Some work from earlier this year
First day home, very scared
Summer has been very busy so far. I adopted a new rescue doggie, that I fondly named "Willow". When we first adopted her, she was afraid to come out of her bed. With lots of encouragement, she is starting to blossom.
I love the beach
She is more confident now, and is very happy. This was her first day at the beach. She is a great dog. She gets along with my other dog, and even likes our cat!
