Getting ready

I have been busy! I just might find "5" of these a little intimidating to get started working on, but I think that's a good thing. Now that I have started to paint larger, I am wishing these were a little bigger. I think these are about 11 x 14 inches or so.

I sooo love painting most of the painting with my hands and finger tips. This connects me with my paintings on a level that is hard to describe..., and I can feel the spirit of my work take on meaning as I create. Painting almost backwards, from the negative, gives new insights, and a feeling I have never felt before. I now have completed 4 of these paintings. The larger one (2' x 4') awaits my re-do. Daunting me,,, I need to get over my fear of painting so large or (re-painting so large).

I was thinking about what a mess we've gotten ourselves into, as a society. I am influenced daily by sad news around me. I wish we had the foresight to see what we could have done better, but it's never too late.

Jesse Reno Workshop

I can't even tell you enough about this great workshop! I learned so much, and Jesse's generosity with his teachings are amazing! He shares his techniques with an open and kind heart.

He likes to paint on the floor, and usually has several pieces going at one time.

He paints on wood and does most of the painting with the palm and finger tips of his hand. He uses brushes for the finishing and fine detail of his work.

We liked to paint our large pieces on the floor too! Kim is getting in the "zone".
