Some new pages, a peek inside

I created these pages recently on an art retreat I attended in Port Townsend. This journal is all hand made. I bound the covers, added watercolor paper, and painted all the pages before I started to work on my art. This journal is a old/new friend.

Created on 140 lb watercolor paper, collage elements, acrylic I really enjoyed working with collage again, it adds interesting elements to my painting.

"My Sister"

I am busy getting back into creating my "Sisters" series. I love bunny slippers, so you will find a lot of my characters wearing them. I guess its something a remember that was special from my childhood. They are sort of hard to find now, especially if you are an adult! haha, but I still love them. Matzke Fine Art Gallery and Sculpture Park

I visited these wonderful grounds over the weekend. It is a magical place. Our hostess Carla was welcoming and shared how she created these grounds from scratch over 15 years ago. The grounds were originally densely forested and needed clearing for the sculpture park. She spent over 5 years creating this space. I'll be back again. It was very cold that day, so I want to visit again and see more of these fabulous acres. The sculpture park is located on Camano Island in Washington state.

Artist Trading Card, or ACEO

"Mermaid"

ACEO stands for "Art Cards, Editions & Originals". This is a miniature work of art the size of a trading or playing card (2.5" x 3.5") they're an inexpensive way to buy original or limited edition art. I created this piece on 140lb cold press water color paper. You can find it in my etsy shop. I'll be posting more very soon. My etsy shop is in the sidebar on the left side of my blog. Happy day! xo

Making a new journal

I have been working on a new journal. I created the cover with canvas boards. This one is from an old one that I am redoing. I have been redoing a lot of journals lately. I like the revision and new concepts of my art that I try in my new ones. That way if I don't like an old style I can rework them and they don't sit packed away in a cupboard. I have another one in the works that will be a little larger. The face is created with acrylics and measures 5 x 7 inches.
