"Apparently Not"

"Apparently Not"
8 x 10 inch gallery wrapped canvas, acrylic, graphite, alumina. Available in my shop.

I always have a difficult time getting a good photo with my camera or my scanner. Mostly it is about color. My computer at home reads the colors quite dark, while my computer at work sees colors lighter. I hope my photos of my art are representative of the colors they really are on other's computers. The darker more rich photo of this piece is over in my flickr account.

Are you all making art today, I hope so!

Artist you should know about

I just love Kathleen Lolley's work. I was able to see it in person in a show in Ballard this last spring.

A re-work

I re-worked this piece from the other day. I like it a lot better now. It's not so dark. The dark faces just didn't seem to work.

I just started this piece, in fact I started it a few days ago. I like it a lot as it is but I haven't painted the background yet. I am at the "I don't want to ruin it" stage. So here it sits in my studio. I don't know, maybe a light blue background?

A new painting today

I started a new painting today. This is called "The Four of us". The faces depict amusement among themselves as their littlest friend decides to wear a birthday hat, and it's not even his birthday!

"Mio Cappello"

I really like the way this piece turned out, however, its rainy today in Seattle, so my camera didn't capture the depth of the colors and it didn't turn out as well as I would have liked it to. It measures 12 x 12 inches and is on gallery wrapped canvas.

I'll take another photo on a sunny day!

Things are a little slow around here...

I haven't made very much art lately. Work has been demanding and I made several pieces of art for a fund raiser. I think I am better creating art at my own pace instead of having a time frame. I feel so much more creative when I can handle my own deadlines. I am over the slump and hope to make lots of new art soon. I would just shrivel up and die if I couldn't create art.

Garden - Jardin

I painted this with watercolors. I haven't done watercolors for a while but I like the way this turned out. This is my submission for the Daniel Smith postcard contest. Wouldn't it be great to win art supplies?

"Sam"

This is created on a wall paper border I found at the thrift store yesterday. I love the background and will make some more art using these. It is a little difficult to paint on as it has a slick surface. I could use gel medium on it, but I am too lazy.
