"Papaya and Lemon"

I have been experimenting with different backgrounds. I love the muslin and the texture it gives. On this piece I have used joint compound. I usually prep 5 pieces at one time, then they are ready when I feel like painting. This piece measures 8 x 8 x 1.5 inches. The colors are much better in person. I use artist grade acrylics and an archival finishing spray.

Tara thank you so much for visiting and commenting on my blog! For my journal I actually do both - sometimes I machine stitch right onto the pages - sometimes I work on separate bits of paper, stitch and then glue in or stitch them right into my sketchbook - whatever I feel like doing at the time!

I also got the correct link for you to suziblu's website http://suziblu.blogspot.com/ - I only discovered it a couple of days ago but I am already smitten.

Oh and I would love to let you know about my updates - I plan to get a newsletter up and running but just need to work out a format - would you like me to email you?

I love your blog here! I need to catch up on your posts but your work is truly scrumptious!
