This is the best place to make art

I have a studio outside my home attached to my garage. While I love my studio, it separates me from my home life. When I create art with acrylics, working in my studio is better, so I don't get paint all over everything. I can work inside my home with watercolors, I like that, I am involved,,,I am not separated as I am in my studio,,, and even my kitty likes to watch. This is the best place to create art!
p.s. see that little pill holder? I use it to put my watercolor paints in. It Keeps the paint moist while giving it a reservoir to keep paint in, and I can travel with it where ever I go.

I love your favorite place for making art. It is my favorite as well. There is something inspiring about creating in the space you use to wind down and be entertained.

You have a beautiful place :)

Your photos have such a cosy feel to them I am surprised you use the garage at all. I have moved into our kitchen now the weather has become so cold and yes, paint does seem to get everywhere is shouldn't.

Mmmmmm......cozy!!! I have a space like that, too. There are just certain things I like to do in my pj's, snuggled up on a couch. Thanks for sharing your space!

Oh thanks for showing us where you work. It is always a treat to see "where it all happens". I am dreaming of a garage studio, but I know what you mean... working in your own home is a treat too. Love your work! grace

I'm with you. I could have a separate room for my art, but I do it on my couch in the family room! When I do acrylics, I throw old blankets on the floor and towels on the couch. I have a shoe rack where I keep scrap book carry-alls for
my supplies. Tt's neat and tidy with my hidden supplies in a box with a painted lid that doubles as a coffee table, with no one the wiser!!That way I am still connected to my family!!

Thanks for sharing!

The use of acrylics have been a challenge for me too, in that I want to slap the paint around and enjoy the medium, but I want to be out on the sofa enjoying the family room too. My studio is lovely, but those acrylics don't travel well to other areas of the home. *sigh* I outfitted a portable tower drawer unit with paints, water bucket, and brushes, and wanted to attempt to "play nicely" with the acrylics in the family room this weekend. I ended up sketching with pen and watercolor while watching the football game... go figure. Hopefully I'll be brave tonight and see if I can work on the more messy techniques and not Jackson Pollock the sofa!!!!! LOL

I understand when you like to do art in your house, that is how i am, but then again I don't have a studio;-)
I love your pill case idea, thank you.
