When I need to get new ideas for an illustration I doodle. Sometimes I just need to fine tune a nose, see where eyes should be, a new body position etc. Doodling allows freedom to explore without judgement (on my part). I call these doodles my doodle pods. This is on heavy card stock paper measuring 8.5 x 11.

Love doodle pods. I keep thinking I should gather all my doodles from all over the place ,some are on paper napkins from restaurants and then I would glue them into one big journal keeping them all in one place . It would be fun. But alas I am way to disorganized to do that and to keep just one journal for my sketching even though I love the idea. ..Julie
