I have been neglecting my etsy shop to be able to create more art in my art journal. I just love creating through each page and adding more,,,until I can finish and go on to the next one. These pages are about painting face profiles. I am really not happy with the way these came out. I need to work on face profiles more. I am obsessed with images with hearts in them right now, so a lot of my art has hearts. I tend to go with a theme until I get tired of it, and think of something else.
I think these characters have a lot of personality, but they just aren't "me" yet. They had a need to be painted though, so here they are. That is what journaling is about for me,,,exploring, creating, and becoming better at what I do.

Making progress

I am making progress on my sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project. I am happy with the way it is turning out (I wasn't at first). Maybe it had something to do with the fact I will never see it again. It will however, travel all across the US for many to enjoy. I like that part. A piece of me traveling all over, perhaps to places I have never been or seen, mysterious places unknown.
See that little tree horned guy up in the upper right? I made him for
Gustavo Aimar's 3 x 3 project. He looked so cute, I attached him by staple to the page. More on that a little later.

What I am working on

I have a large book that I altered and am making into an art journal. It's hard to tell from the photo how big it is. It measures approx 24" x 8". I'm still not totally happy with the cover but I will still be working on it. It's called "Very Very Odd Book".

Two pages painted inside. Still more paint needs to be added. I used the design on the left for my next rug hooking project.

Here is my next hooking project. Inspired from my painting above. It is much smaller than my rug. About 12 x 10 or so. I'll be making this into a pillow after it is all hooked.
